UMC: A year-on-year decrease of 20.15% from 2022

UMC, a major wafer foundry, had revenue in December of NT$16.979 billion (the same below), reflecting the off-season effect and the lowest revenue in the past 10 months. UMC’s full-year revenue in 2023 will drop to 222.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 20.15% from 2022. Looking forward to 2024, foreign investors are optimistic that as the industrial boom recovers, UMC’s utilization rate will also rebound in the second half of the year, driving revenue back to growth of about 11% to 247.6 billion yuan.
