ASE: Revenue fell 13.3%, Highest ever

In the third quarter of 2023, the traditional peak season effect of packaging and testing plants is still not significant, but the recovery in demand in the automotive and specific consumer electronics fields will lead to an upward revision of the global packaging and testing output value forecast. Despite this, due to the inventory backlog and sluggish demand in the first half of the year, the global IC packaging and testing industry is expected to decline in output value to US$37.45 billion in 2023, an annual decline of 12.1%.

ASE: Revenue fell 13.3%, Highest ever

Semiconductor packaging and testing major ASE’s consolidated revenue in the fourth quarter of 2023 was NT$160.581 billion, a quarter-on-quarter increase of 4.2%. ASE’s average capacity utilization rate in 2023 is about 60-65%, and its annual consolidated revenue is NT$581.914 billion (approximately RMB 132.725 billion). Although it fell by 13.3%, it is still the second-highest performance in history. Investment institutions are optimistic about ASE’s future prospects, predicting that capacity utilization will rebound to 70-80% in 2024, and revenue and profits in 2024 are expected to be better than in 2023.
